In the Central region – Central Highlands, live hog prices fluctuated between 54,000 and 58,000 VND/kg, an increase of about 4,000 VND/kg compared to the previous week and the highest increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Binh Thuan is the locality with the highest live hog price in the region at 58,000 VND/kg. The lowest recorded price in the region is currently 54,000 VND/kg, recorded in Ha Tinh province.

In the southern region, the price of live hog increased the most, exceeding the mark of 60,000 VND/kg and fluctuated between 54,000 and 61,000 VND/kg. An Giang is the area that recorded the highest price in the region, reaching 61,000 VND/kg.

Localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai and Vung Tau have the same increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, the price of live hog is currently trading at 57,000 – 58,000 VND/kg.

Explaining the sharp increase in live hog prices, Mr. Nguyen The Chinh, Head of the Management Board of Livestock and Poultry Wholesale Markets in Ha Nam province, said that the number of live hogs sold in the market decreased, and the re-incarnation rate was also low. decrease, farmers continuously lose money when input costs are continuously high.

Moreover, in the past time, the raging African swine fever also caused a sharp decrease in supply. At the same time, high gasoline prices are the factors contributing to the high price of live pigs.

And Mr. Tran Van Chung, Vice Chairman of Ngoc Lu Commune People’s Committee (Binh Luc, Ha Nam) and also the owner of a farm raising hundreds of pigs said that, since Tet, the price of live pigs sold at the barns of households with livestock has increased.
