New York shooting suspect faces life in prison

NBC News quoted a law enforcement official as saying that the defendant’s parents were cooperating with authorities.

Unconfirmed information is that the perpetrator wrote an insulting word for black people on the gun that committed the crime.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement that the shooting was being investigated as a hate crime and racially motivated extremist violence.
