However, in 2006, he decided to go to Australia to pursue his studies and leave the professional path. It is known that he is a former international student majoring in finance at La Trobe University – one of the top schools in the world. After graduating, he returned to Ho Chi Minh City to work as an office worker, currently the Senior Manager of Consulting Services at PwC – one of the 4 Big4 Audits of Vietnam.

During his time studying abroad, Mr. Huy’s part-time jobs are often related to sports such as teaching swimming, teaching jogging, etc. to overseas students. He himself did not forget to practice regularly like when he was a professional player before. In 2018, he started to practice more triathlons with the desire to break his limits.

Stuck in a foreign land because of the impact of the pandemic in 2020, Huy also did not expect that in “bad luck, there is luck”. Confide with Youth, he said: “In Taiwan, I participated in triathlon tournaments and achieved good results, being in the top 2 of Vietnam, so I was selected by the coaching team to prepare for the 31st SEA Games. This made me very uncomfortable. I was surprised, proud because an office worker like me can meet the standards of top competition.”

In order to balance work and practice to prepare for a very important exam, Huy revealed that his self-practice time is 10-12 hours/week, and he will go on a long-distance bike ride with groups on weekends. . For busy days at work, he always takes a 30-minute break in between to “take advantage” of swimming or jogging.

In the world, there are many cases of office workers who are also sports athletes, but in Vietnam such cases are quite rare. Therefore, Huy also wants to spread the spirit of sports training to everyone. Towards the 31st SEA Games, he always tries to practice to bring the best results for his country’s sports.
