Back in March, the BMW i3, an all-electric version of the G20 3-Series, was revealed in China. Codenamed G28, the design of the i3 is significantly different from the current BMW 3-Series. This can be seen as a preview image for the new 3-Series facelift.

Now there is no need to imagine anymore, the image of the BMW 3-Series facelift has appeared in a document of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. According to Chinese press, the 3-Series facelift is expected to launch in China in the second half of this year.

Through the images obtained, the BMW 3-Series will be upgraded with many different color options, design details and wheels.

First, the standard version has a new octagonal grille, which increases slightly vertically compared to the current grille with various “textures”.

On either side of the grille are slimmer headlights, less sharp of the current “claw” design, inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights. All models revealed this time around are wearing new M Sport fenders. The front bumper, which is different from the i3, is mainly a large air intake in the middle, accompanied by an L-shaped border in the corners.

The rear bumper is more prominent thanks to the large diffuser. The entire lower part is finished in black for contrast. Instead of round exhaust pipes is a trapezoidal exhaust. The rear lights and overall of the 3-Series seem unchanged from before. In China, there will be both standard wheelbase and long wheelbase versions.

Inside, the BMW 3-Series is quite similar to the i3 with a wide screen linked to the latest BMW 8 operating system (also available on the i4), but there will be no small screen controlling the air conditioning system but integrated into the system. touch screen.

In terms of engines, three, four and six-cylinder, hybrid and plug-in hybrid options are expected. Based on the images obtained, the variants that will be available in China include the 320i, 320Li, 325Li and 330Li.
