“We say firmly and unequivocally with unquestionable confidence that, at least, the Russian diplomats working here will not have any backing down. We are confident that all the goals set by the supreme commander-in-chief for the armed forces will be fully achieved. We will never give up, never back down,” he told Soloviev Live TV.

The diplomat noted that the goals and tasks of the special military operation were clearly stated. “All we want is not to have any threat to the Russian Federation from Ukraine,” he said.

According to Ambassador Antonov, the US is being dragged deeper into the conflict, with unpredictable consequences. “Today the situation is highly dangerous. The US is being dragged deeper into conflict with unpredictable consequences in the relationship between the two countries nuclear power”, he stated.

In addition, he said the Russian Embassy in Washington is under threat, including threats of physical violence, and the embassy’s operations are now restricted.

“It’s a good comparison. I agree that it’s like a besieged fortress. In principle, our embassy is working in a hostile environment,” Antonov said.

He said anti-Russian protests occur daily near the embassy with acts of vandalism, and American politicians want to push Russian diplomats and military into a state of betrayal.

“Agents from the US security agencies are around outside the embassy, ​​giving the phone numbers of the CIA and the FBI so that they can establish relations,” according to the Russian ambassador.

Regarding operation, he said that the Russian Embassy in Washington was still operating normally, while US officials completely stopped all direct contact with embassy staff.

The CIA and FBI declined to comment, while the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the State Department did not respond to requests for comment.
