At about 5:00 p.m. on the same day, Mr. Dinh Van Hoang drove a motorbike to fetch from the construction site to the camp. On the way back, this driver recalled the incident of being scolded by Mr. Thanh, so he drove the motorbike to beat the bucket 3-4 times at the top of the truck BKS 29H-477.53 which was parked outside the camp. At this time, Mr. Thanh was not in the car, but was sitting in the camp.

After that, Mr. Thanh ran away from the camp, and Mr. Hoang continued to drive the excavator to find it. After not finding Mr. Thanh, Hoang returned to the camp to see a pickup truck BKS 60C-122.26 driven by Mr. Lai Phuc Loc (from Nam Dinh province, employee of NewSun Company). When Mr. Loc was backing up to leave the camp, Dinh Van Hoang used a ladle to hit the front of the pickup truck twice in a row because he thought Mr. Thanh was in the car.

In court, Mr. Lai Phuc Loc said that it is necessary to consider Mr. Dinh Van Hoang’s behavior as intentional homicide. Because, according to Mr. Loc, when he was moving the car in reverse, but Hoang used a ladle to hit the front of the car 2 times from the top down, it was a deliberate failure to pursue, not simply damage the property.

Meanwhile, the representative of NewSun Company at the trial said that the defendant’s behavior was immediate anger, so there was a desire to reduce the criminal part.

Declare at court, defendant Dinh Van Hoang said that when he saw Mr. Thanh passing by a pickup truck, the defendant thought that Mr. Thanh was inside the car, so he smashed it because he was angry, but did not know the person inside was Mr. Again Phuc Loc, and did not intend to pursue.

At the property valuation conclusion, the damage to the truck BKS29H-477.53 was more than 48 million VND, and the pickup truck BKS 60C-122.26 was more than 85 million VND. During the detention process of Mr. Dinh Van Hoang, the defendant’s family recovered 30 million VND for the owner of 2 smashed cars.

Holding the right to prosecute at the trial, the representative of the People’s Procuracy of Ham Thuan Bac district rejected Mr. Lai Phuc Loc’s opinion about adding the act of intentional murder against defendant Dinh Van Hoang. Through considering the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the representative of Ham Thuan Bac People’s Procuracy proposed a sentence of 2 years to 2 years and 6 months in prison for Hoang for the crime of “Deliberately damaging property”.

It is expected that tomorrow morning (May 17), the jury will pronounce the sentence.
