Domestic construction steel price simultaneously decreased by 300,000 VND/ton

Hoa Phat, which accounts for 32.6% of the national construction steel market share in 2021, announced a change in product prices from May 11. Accordingly, in the North, CB240 coil price was at VND 18.63 million, down VND 310,000/ton from the previous day. Type D10 CB300 lowered 300,000 VND/ton to 18.74 million VND/ton. In the South, the prices of the two types above decreased by 310,000 VND/ton and 320,000 VND/ton, respectively, to 18.68 million VND/ton and 18.7 million VND/ton.

Before that, at the beginning of March, Hoa Phat and many other brands increased by 410,000-460,000 VND/ton.

With Vietnam Italy steel brand, CB240 and D10 CB300 together decreased by 310,000 VND/ton to 18.58 million VND/ton and 18.68 million VND/ton.

With Viet Duc in the North, CB240 and D10 CB300, respectively, decreased by 310,000 VND/ton and 300,000 VND/ton to 18.57 million VND/ton and 18.88 million VND/ton, respectively.

Kyoei Steel also adjusted down 310,000 VND/ton and 300,000 VND/ton with CB240 and D10 CB300. After the change, the prices of the two types above remained at VND 18.57 million/ton and VND 18.78 million/ton.

Last week, spot prices of many steel grades in China also went down. Rebar on May 13 at 4,818 yuan/ton ($709/ton), down 1.4% compared to the beginning of the week. Stainless steel prices were at 18,265 yuan/ton ($2,690/ton) on May 13, down 1.1% from the beginning of the week. Cold rolled coil was at 5,510 yuan/ton ($811/ton), down 0.8% from the beginning of the week.
