From 4:00 p.m. on May 15 to 4:00 p.m. on May 16, on the National Case Management System COVID-19 recorded 1,550 new infections, of which 2 were imported and 1,548 were recorded domestically (down 46 cases compared to the previous day) in 48 provinces and cities (with 1,355 cases in the community).

Situation of COVID-19 epidemic in Vietnam

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has 10,698,180 infections, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 104 out of 227 countries and territories (with an average of 108,093 infections for every 1 million people).

In the fourth outbreak (from April 27, 2021 to present), the number of infections recorded in the country is 10,690,425 cases, of which 9,356,946 patients have been declared cured.

On May 15, 79,626 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of doses of vaccine injected is 217,039,026 doses, of which:

Number of injections for people 18 years and older is 197,092,034 doses: 1st dose is 71,467,507 doses; The second dose is 68,684,058 doses; The third dose is 1,506,127 doses; The additional dose was 15,164,356 doses; The first booster dose is 40,244,742 doses; The second booster dose is 25,244 doses.

Number of injections for children aged 12-17 years is 17,402,459 doses: 1st dose is 8,918,406 doses; The second dose is 8,484,053 doses.
