Surveyed at some dealers of Toyota, Ford or Kia … in Hanoi, the number of visitors to see the car was not much. A Ford dealer said that customers who come to see the car are very empty because they usually contact the salesperson in advance and have been told that they cannot deliver the car in time to “run” the fee.

Mr. Ho Mau Hung, Ford dealer Hanoi (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) said that the supply of most manufacturers is very limited, even normal demand is difficult to meet.

Therefore, the number of buyers has increased, and the dealer has no cars to sell. With the current situation, it will not be until the fourth quarter of 2022 that the shortage of components will be temporarily resolved.

An employee of Toyota Ha Dong dealer also said that customer demand for cars assembled in May was greater than last month. However, assembled cars are still in short supply.

“The current Toyota Vios, if signed, can be delivered in May but Fortuner will have to wait until June. There are some customers who asked to buy Fortuner cars and wanted to get them in May, but knowing the information could not be delivered in time to “run” registration fee, they don’t order anymore”, this employee said.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Head of Technical Subcommittee, Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), said that although manufacturers are still facing difficulties in supply of components, in general, the assembled car market is in the domestic market. May this month will probably be better than last month.

Because this is the last month, even if there is a shortage of components, manufacturers will try to boost sales by all means. Mr. Hieu also raised his personal opinion that maybe after May, the shortage of goods will cool down when the 50% reduction in registration fee policy expires.

Use the “run” fee to close the contract

A deserted scene occurs at many agents when most current buyers may not be able to enjoy the discount on registration fees.

Walking through car groups on social networks, it is not difficult to find posts for sale of new assembled cars with the opening sentence “ready to pay taxes”.

These news lines often have a lot of viewer interaction and asking to buy. This partly represents the heat of car market when the registration fee reduction period is about to end.

To boost sales, some dealers are promising customers a way to “bring the file to pay taxes first, get the car later” to keep up with the policy of 50% reduction in registration fees.

In the role of a customer, the Traffic Newspaper reporter contacted an auto dealer in Thanh Xuan district (Hanoi) after seeing this person posting an article about selling “tax-run” cars on social networks.

This employee promises to have the car in May and deliver the car in June by applying for a car file in advance to pay taxes in May, when the car is available, the procedures will be completed.

This employee also said that because the number of cars that can do the above tax payment procedures is very small, customers who want to “run” tax must close early. To buy a car of this type, customers must pay enough for the car to be issued an invoice, together with a new car record, so they can pay the registration fee before June 1, 2022.

Similarly, another dealer in Dong Da, Hanoi also promises to help customers “run” tax by the above way: “The reason this can be done is because the car is finished, located in the factory warehouse, only lack of semiconductor chip components should not be able to pay customers. If you have the chassis number, engine number and factory slip, if you have an invoice, then just pay tax. When the car comes back, bring the car to register”.

A car salesman who has quit his job revealed that the last month of reducing registration fees in 2020, this situation also took place for customers to enjoy incentives. The car will have a factory certificate, then it will be possible to close the chassis number and engine number.

An automobile expert said that printing the factory slip, making documents to pay the registration fee, and enjoy the incentives could happen. Maybe it’s the case that the car has been inspected for quality, but waiting for shipping, the file can be returned first so that the customer can “run” the tax.

However, in this case, there is also a risk that customers have to wait a long time, not knowing when to deliver the car, especially when components are in short supply today.
