According to Fars News, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that another village in Russia’s Belgorod region was shelled from Ukraine on Sunday, May 15. Accordingly, the village of Sereda located on the border between the two countries was shelled, causing one person to be injured by a shrapnel.

The person is receiving medical attention, Gladkov said, without mentioning the victim’s condition.

The village of Sereda made headlines earlier this week when reports on social media spread rumors that the village had been captured by the Ukrainian army. Authorities in the Belgorod region have declared that report untrue.

Since Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine at the end of February, many settlements in the southwestern regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk have come under attack from the Ukrainian side.

Moscow has warned that it will attack Ukraine’s “decision-making centres, including Kiev” if such incidents continue.

On the same day, May 15, Russia carried out a missile attack on the Lviv region. The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, announced that a military facility had been attacked and completely destroyed.

The rocket attack happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The missiles were launched from the Black Sea, possibly from a submarine.

The Ukrainian military shot down two cruise missiles in the area, but four more hit their targets.

According to Kozytskyi, the facility was attacked in the Yavoriv district, near the border with Poland. In March, Russian forces opened fire on the Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv region, killing 35 people and injuring more than 100.

According to initial reports, there were no victims in the May 15 attack. No one sought medical help.

There is no direct fighting in the Lviv region, but the threat of missile attacks remains in the western Ukraine region causing concern. A missile attack on April 18 in Lviv killed seven people and wounded 11 others, including a child.
