The clip of an 8-year-old boy beating a 2-year-old girl to steal food is controversial

According to SCMP, a video recording an image of an 8-year-old male student brutally assaulting a 2-year-old girl has made the Chinese online community angry recently.

Accordingly, the male student in the video, surnamed Zhuang, is a student at an elementary school in southern China. In the video, Zhuang entered the house where the 2-year-old girl was playing alone and began assaulting her to steal snacks. The male student started kicking the girl in the face and continued to beat her even as she tried to run away. This barbaric act only ended when her grandfather appeared, causing Zhuang to run away. As a result of this assault, the 2-year-old girl suffered a concussion and broke 4 teeth.

The girl’s family said that Zhuang’s family refused to admit their child’s wrongdoing until they saw the video. But even after watching, they still did not apologize, but only asked her family not to report to the police, as for Zhuang, this male student curtly stated: “I want to hit whoever I want.”

Unable to accept the attitude of Zhuang’s family, the 2-year-old girl’s father reported this to the police, the case is currently under investigation.

After the incident was shared on social networks, the Chinese online community was really outraged not only because of the violent nature of this male student, but also because of the subsequent behavior of their family. Many people believe that the Government needs to review the Law on protection of minors because the number of law violations and violent acts in this age group is increasing at an alarming rate.

In 1991, China passed the juvenile protection law, which stipulates that juvenile offenders under the age of 14 should not bear any criminal responsibility.
