Arrest the person who carried out a series of robberies at the gold shop

Thu Duc City police said that they had just arrested an object specializing in staging robberies in gold shops.

The object of arrest is Nguyen Khac Huy (42 years old, living in District 6, temporarily residing in Phu Huu Ward, Thu Duc City).

According to initial information, Thu Duc City Police recently received a report about a cheeky robbery that happened at KL gold shop on Street 7, Quarter 3, Phuoc Binh Ward.

Specifically, on the afternoon of May 4, Huynh Duy K (28 years old, from Ca Mau) was sitting at a gold shop looking after a young man riding a motorbike and asked to buy a gold chain. The customer asked Mr. K to show two gold chains….

Taking advantage of Mr. K’s loss of vigilance, the young man grabbed two chains and ran out, got on a motorbike to escape. According to the gold shop owner, the two necklaces mentioned above are worth about 200 million VND.

Received the news, Thu Duc City Police have investigated. The police extracted security camera images, determined the direction of the subject’s escape, especially the Air Blade motorcycle used by this subject, suspected of being involved in a robbery that happened about a month ago. also at a gold shop in Long Phuoc ward, Thu Duc city.

Following the traces and many other professional measures, the scout identified the perpetrator as Nguyen Khac Huy. On the evening of May 10, scouts ambushed and arrested Huy at his house on 5th street, residential area in Indochina, Phu Huu ward.

Initially, Huy admitted to having carried out the robbery at the KL gold shop as mentioned above. Through the struggle, Huy also admitted that he had carried out two other cases.

Specifically, on March 1, Huy robbed 1.2 pieces of gold at a gold shop in Long Phuoc ward, Thu Duc city. Two years earlier, Huy also robbed two gold bars at a gold shop on Nguyen Duy Trinh street, Binh Trung Dong ward, Thu Duc city.

It is known that Huy’s trick when he went to commit the crime was to disguise himself as carrying a box of goods. When he arrived in front of the gold shop, Huy pretended that the box was heavy, so he dismantled it and placed it in front of the shop. It is this that makes the staff, the gold shop owner think they are ‘big customers’, so they are negligent and lose their vigilance.

In addition, when the robbery was successful, Huy drove his motorbike through many streets and alleys, then changed his shirt to “change shape”.

Thu Duc City police suspect that Huy has committed many robberies of similar nature in many different locations.

Currently, the police are expanding the investigation and calling for anyone who is the victim to contact and report.
