Awarding the Science Innovation Contest 2022

The Science Initiative Contest 2022 was organized for the first time by VnExpress with the desire to create a playground for professional and amateur scientists, inspire creativity and promote applied research in practice.

Scientific initiative is a contest for professional and non-specialist researchers, under 40 years old, all over Vietnam. The competition targets five areas: biomedicine – biochemistry, education, agriculture, environment and new materials. The purpose of the contest is to find research products and creative ideas for life. Launched in February 2022, after 4 months, the contest has attracted more than 100 entries, 88 valid applications entered the preliminary round. The organizers have selected 29 projects into the final round.

According to the prize structure, the BTC will award the first prize worth 50 million VND, the second prize 30 million VND, the third prize 20 million VND and 3 consolation prizes, 10 million VND each, for worthy solutions. In addition, a special prize of 100 million VND will be given to the author of the excellent study – to honor the solution that has a deep and wide impact on economic and social aspects.

All prize money is funded by the Hope Foundation. This is a social fund – charity works for the community, not for profit, operated by Electronic NewspaperVnExpress and FPT Corporation. The Foundation pursues two goals: to support the disadvantaged and to create momentum for development. One of the fund’s activities is promoting technology application, equipping individuals and communities with tools for sustainable development, especially equipping knowledge through education.
