The NY Post reports that the plant species featured in the video is Nepenthes holdenii. This is a tropical pitcher plant. They occur in some mountainous areas of Cambodia. Due to its special shape, quite similar to the “sensitive parts” of men, locals also jokingly call it “penis tree”.

This “ugly” trend has worried local officials. Previously, the Cambodian government called on people to stop uprooting and playing with this tree. On May 11, the Ministry of Environment of this country issued a tough statement, asking people and tourists not to repeat the same behavior as in the video mentioned above.
“Thank you for loving natural resources. What you have done is wrong. Do not repeat this action in the future. Do not cut trees or pull flowers anymore, or they will be destroyed. “, part of the statement stated.
