Female fans announced to donate nearly 1 billion VND to the men’s football team

Before the opening football match at the 31st SEA Games between Vietnam and Indonesia on May 6, at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), Ms. Hanh – an enthusiastic fan from Hai Phong, boldly declared announced: “I will give the men’s football team 300 million dong, the women’s football team 500 million dong if they win the SEA Games championship”.

This is not the first time Hanh has announced a hot bonus for the team. For Vietnamese football lovers, she is known as a “familiar” fan for nearly 30 years, from the time of players Nguyen Hong Son and Huynh Duc.

The most passionate female football fan in Vietnam

Since the 90s, Hanh has been passionate about football. In the past, her family’s situation was difficult, she did not have a television to watch football, she often went to the village to watch each match through loudspeakers. Although she only heard the report, she still tried to imagine in her mind the scene of the match, each step, the passing of the players.

Growing up, the family was better off, life gradually became more favorable, the woman decided to accompany Vietnamese football, especially Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club.

“The players often call me “aunt”, “uncle”, like a family member. I also often visit the houses of players such as Hong Duy, Van Toan, Van Thanh, Bui Tien Dung, etc. had the opportunity,” said Hanh.

In early January 2019, Ms. Hanh traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to cheer on the Vietnamese team at the Asian Cup. From the beginning of the tournament, she did not miss any match of coach Park Hang-seo’s teachers and students.

The woman in her 50s and her friend, Ms. Vu Thuy, brought 100kg of banh chung, spring rolls, and fried rice to give to the players. The next day, they continued to transfer another 100kg of food from Vietnam to the UAE.

On January 21, 2019, hearing that the players were still craving some Vietnamese food, two female fans decided to fly back to Vietnam, bringing to the UAE 80kg of orange soup, mackerel, and garlic vinegar.

Then, at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines at the end of November 2019, Hanh and her friend once again brought 60kg of Vietnam U22 relay food. The dishes are prepared by the restaurant, in which two dishes with bold hometown flavor are fried fish and fried shrimp.

“I’m worried that the players who don’t like the food abroad will not have the strength to fight, affect their physical strength. Like a mother and sister, I prepare the dishes of my hometown, accompany the team.” Hanh recalls.

Many people think that she is “hot”, but when she witnessed the team’s difficulties, the woman said that her work was not meaningless.

Accompanying the team for decades, Ms. Hanh has many happy and sad memories. In the matches that seemed to be eliminated, Vietnam won again, bringing bursting joy. She is willing to spend large sums of money to give to the teams as a spiritual gift.

Once, a female fan was so happy when Vietnam won, holding a bouquet of flowers, riding a motorbike to celebrate, unfortunately fell and broke her chin. To this day, her face still has a scar of the joy of winning that year.

Then, whether she lost or won the tournaments, she still secretly thanked the team for their dedication. “With football, winning – losing is normal. I always consider winning matches as glory, losing as a lesson learned,” she said.

In previous years, when the SEA Games were held abroad, Hanh went all month to cheer. From football, athletics, table tennis, swimming, etc., in any competition with the Vietnamese team, she participates from morning to night.

“I’m like a ‘shuttle’, commuting between foreign stadiums. Sometimes when there’s a traffic jam, I leave my car and jog into the field to keep up with the match. Whenever the Vietnamese team plays, I cheer, You don’t need to know anything,” she said.

When the Vietnamese women’s soccer team won the 30th SEA Games, Ms. Hanh awarded teachers and coaches Mai Duc Chung 500 million VND. Or when the men’s football team won over Jordan in the 2019 Asian Cup, she also donated 500 million VND.

This year, the 31st SEA Games held in Vietnam, kicking off football from May 6, Ms. Hanh has not missed a match, going back and forth between Phu Tho – Nam Dinh – Hai Phong. Understanding the psychology of her wife and husband, although not passionate about football, agreed to become a “background” for her to “fight” according to the matches.

“My husband often says, ‘I’m fine when I go to support football, but every time I go home, I’m tired.’ Fortunately, I have the support of my husband and children and family,” she said.

I hope everyone follows suit and cheers for the team,” she laughed and said a lot. who said “crazy”, but she ignored it.

Although the past two years of the Covid-19 pandemic have affected her business, when the sports festivals began to return, Hanh continued to rekindle her love for football. She once told coach Mai Duc Chung that she would accompany the women’s soccer team at the World Cup. If the team makes it to the second round, she is ready to donate 1 billion VND.

Being familiar with the players and coaches of the Vietnamese football team, the female athlete always considers them as family members. Especially, with female players, she is as dear, caring and encouraging as younger sisters.

In the near future, when Vietnamese football enters the semi-finals and final of the 31st SEA Games, Hanh once again announced a prize of 800 million VND.

“The road to glory is always fraught with thorns, I hope the men’s team is very resilient, going through all the thorns to come to glory,” she said, to the women’s team, hoping that they will always be passionate and enthusiastic. fought hard. Tell neither the final nor the semi-final Vietnam won, the woman said she still gave the money as promised.

“Hopefully the coming days will be beautiful days and Vietnam will win the SEA Games,” she said.

Mr. Phan Dinh Long, Chairman of the Northern VFS Supporters Association, said that Hanh has regularly sponsored two men’s and women’s soccer teams for many years. She has joined the association since 2018, always contributing, accompanying and sponsoring for the activities of not only the association, but also the football team.
