Install iOS 15.5 now to fix bugs and update security

With the update iOS 15.5, users will see additional Request and Send buttons added to Apple Wallet. These buttons allow users to set up a request or send money faster via Messages using Apple Cash. Note that Apple Pay in the Messages app has now been renamed to Apple Cash. Meanwhile, the physical Apple Card is now called Titanium Card in the Wallet app.

To prevent podcasts from eating up storage space, the iOS 15.5 update allowed users to limit the number of podcast episodes stored on iPhone while automatically deleting older episodes. Additionally, Wi-Fi signal bars in the Home app have been added to let users know that the HomePod is connected to the app.

The most interesting change in iOS 15.5 is probably the External Link Account Entitlement feature for reader applications – applications that provide the content of magazines, newspapers, books, audio, music and video.. . in digital format. After the update, developers offering readers apps on the App Store can link subscribers to an external website to create an account outside of Apple’s in-app billing system.

With the new iOS update, the Photos app will have a new “Sensitive Locations” list. Photos taken in areas deemed “sensitive” will not be displayed in the commemorative section.

For the iPadOS 15.5 update, the beta label was removed from Universal Control making the feature official and less buggy. With Universal Controls, users can share a mouse, trackpad, and keyboard across multiple devices such as iPads and Macs.

Up to 25 security fixes related to iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 have been listed on Apple’s security update page. To update to the latest operating system version on iPhone and iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

The iOS 15.5 update supports phones from iPhone 6s and up. Meanwhile, iPadOS 15.5 supports all models of iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch 7th generation.
