Meritorious Artist Tran Luc lost 11kg to play Trinh Cong Son in Em and Trinh

– What similarities do you and the role (the late musician Trinh Cong Son) have?

My profession is acting. This is interesting, every time I act, I am transformed into a character. There are actual characters who have nothing in common with the actor himself. For example, in the past, I played a lot of military roles, but for the role of Trinh Cong Son, I think it is very important, it is Trinh Cong Son’s artistry or artistic soul and so am I. I also have the soul of an artist, I also have the life and life of an artist. So I feel like I’m very close to and understand my character.

– ‘You and Trinh’, which scene do you like the most? What were your difficulties or obstacles during the making of the film?

Each individual segment has its own story and different moods. To make a movie, it’s natural to have difficulty. Before making the film, I had to have preparatory work such as having to lose weight to create the slimmest appearance similar to the archetype of musician Trinh Cong Son, or to practice speaking with Hue accent, practice singing and especially me. Gotta practice playing the guitar…

Talking about hard work is a lot, because film is a synthetic art, there are many different arts, from cinematography to art design, actors, directors or sound and light… Film production is hard work, and it takes a lot of work to make a finished movie. I say the most simple as filming time, maybe 12 hours but sometimes 16 hours and even 20 hours.

– How is your family life now?

I don’t often share family problems. My kids also don’t like me to post pictures on social media and they really don’t. Sometimes you have to “ask for permission” to get it. In my opinion, family is a private matter, so I don’t talk about it often.

– After the show ‘Daddy, where are we going’, the audience is still curious about how Bom gets older?

Even though my son is old, he is still the same, still likes to talk to his father like in the old days. But as an adult, she is often afraid to let her father take pictures because she is also at a young age. Like in the old days, when I was a kid, my father could post pictures freely, but now, if I want to post, I have to ask his permission or it will be very uncomfortable. And I also respect him very much, even when he was a child, I respected his opinion and now that he is older and more conscious, the more I have to respect his interests and life.
