Discussing the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam has made efforts and successfully implemented the vaccination strategy, promptly transitioning to safe, flexible adaptation and effective disease control. to open the economy, focus on recovery and socio-economic development.

Discussing international and regional issues, the Prime Minister was pleased to see the continued strengthening of the ASEAN-UN partnership, and asked the UN to support ASEAN’s central role in solving regional issues. , including maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, peaceful settlement of disputes on the basis of international law, especially the Convention. United Nations on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS), as well as assisting Myanmar in stabilizing the situation through dialogue and reconciliation, ensuring people’s safety, and humanitarian access.

Regarding the situation in Ukraine, the Prime Minister affirmed that it is necessary to promote dialogue and negotiation to find a lasting peaceful solution on the basis of compliance with basic principles of international law and the UN Charter, respect and integrity. to the legitimate interests of the parties involved. Vietnam has decided to donate USD 500,000 for humanitarian relief activities to support people affected by the conflict in Ukraine and is willing to make active contributions to the diplomatic, dialogue and negotiation process, as well as in reconstruction and rehabilitation in Ukraine.

Ms. Mohammed affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner and friend of the United Nations and hopes that the two sides will continue to develop the relationship in a more comprehensive and effective manner.
