Why can’t the Philippine bodybuilding team compete at the SEA Games?

Nine bodybuilders from the Philippines team were not allowed to compete at the 31st SEA Games because they did not comply with anti-doping principles.

All Filipino bodybuilders said that this was the first time they were mentioned about the issue.

A week before arriving in Hanoi, the whole team received the above information and tried to find a solution but failed.

The 31st SEA Games technical representative Chetan Pathare told AFP: “A doping certificate is required. It was mentioned very clearly but the Philippines did not follow through.

The sports officials of the host country Vietnam have informed many times to all relevant national Olympic committees. This is the reason why Filipino athletes cannot compete.”
