Dong Thap police prosecute the case of ‘CDC related to Viet A’

The investigating agency determined that there were signs of wrongdoing in the bidding for the procurement of Viet A test kits worth more than VND 233 billion for medical facilities in Dong Thap province.

On May 18, Dong Thap Province Police prosecuted the case Violation of regulations on bidding causes serious consequences According to Clause 3, Article 222 of the Penal Code, investigating signs of crimes occurring at the Center for Disease Control of Dong Thap province and medical units and facilities.

This move was made after more than a month of handling by the provincial police according to a source of denunciation about the crime.

Previously, the Dong Thap Provincial Inspectorate concluded that in 2020-2021, the procurement process for equipment, medical supplies, biological products, test kits, drugs and the use of funds to prevent Covid-19 of the above units is more than 742 billion. In which, the purchase of medical equipment is nearly 84 billion, medical supplies more than 182 billion, biological tests over 305.8 billion and test kits nearly 170 billion.

Particularly for Viet A Company, the procurement units through 10 bidding packages, the total contract value is more than 233 billion VND. However, the actual value of procurement is more than 197 billion VND, has paid Viet A Company nearly 157 billion VND.
