During her trip to Hanoi, Mrs. May wanted to experience many street foods. Mrs. May gave many compliments to Hanoi street food. She complimented the delicious Hanoi fish cakes, and shared that she could eat shrimp paste. She quite liked the eel porridge and fried eel. “This is the first time I have eaten eel prepared like this, very suitable for drinking beer,” she said. This is also a dish that she finds delicious and plans to eat again and again. She was interested in spicy eel vermicelli and chose Ms. Ngo’s Gate of the Citadel in Minh Khai Street to enjoy. Mrs. May also praised bun thang, sharing that she had eaten at Ba To – Hang Be restaurant.

On days of cheering for her children to compete in the early morning, Mrs. May eats breakfast in the way “most similar to Hanoians” but still ensures fast and sufficient quality. The local breakfast in her eyes consisted of a cup of filter coffee and egg bread. “Good coffee, keeps me awake in the morning to cheer up my son,” May said.

The most impressive experience, according to her, is eating “Bun Cha Obama”. In fact, this is Huong Lien restaurant once welcomed former US President Obama in 2016. She was surprised when the shop preserved the things that Obama used and did not forget to take souvenir photos. Her group also sat where Mr. Obama sat in the past.

Another interesting experience is to try egg coffee at Giang restaurant. “Step into a narrow and dark alley but inside is the best cafe,” she said. Mrs. May assessed that egg coffee tasted quite unusual but delicious.

Mrs. May is now anxious to let her son Joseph Schooling enjoy delicious dishes, but to ensure his health, the male athlete has not had the opportunity. However, she always shares a delicious meal with her child by sending him pictures all the time. “I will continue to have great culinary experiences,” Mrs. May said.
