Vietnamese players win against legendary Efren Reyes

Ha Dong Gymnasium was almost packed with fans in the stands looking down at the match table between the legendary Efren Reyes and Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu in the semi-finals of the one-piece carom.

Both players received enthusiastic support from the audience, especially Reyes. However, the position on the board shows that Reyes is not an opponent of Thanh Tu.

Despite being led by the legendary Reyes 5-0, Thanh Tu came up spectacularly. The Vietnamese player took the lead with 27 points. Although the Filipino legend had 13 points in a row, he could not close the gap.

The gap between Thanh Tu and Efren Reyes is widening. By the end of the game, the Filipino legend had almost no chance to level the score.

The final victory belonged to Thanh Tu with a score of 100-55. With this defeat, Reyes only has a bronze medal at the 31st SEA Games. Thanh Tu will meet his compatriot Pham Quoc Tuan in the final match at 10:00 am on May 19. Billiards Vietnam will definitely have a gold medal in the 1-band carom content, just like the 2019 SEA Games.
