Mr. Bui The Duy also expressed concern: “Although they have had concerns and opinions about developing artificial intelligence, they are still at a relatively low level compared to the world, due to the lack of ready preparation in terms of computational data, technology, human resources… We have a lot of potential but only in the form of potential.”

To promote artificial intelligence, Deputy Minister Bui The Duy pointed out 3 pillars that need to be done.

According to the report published in February 2022 on the “Government AI Readiness Index” produced by Oxford Insights (United Kingdom) in conjunction with the International Development Research Center of Canada (IDRC). ) implementation, Vietnam ranks 62nd in the world and 6th in ASEAN, up 14 places compared to 2020, up 14 places compared to the world ranking and 1 place (6/10) compared to ASEAN.

This is the first year that Vietnam’s average score reached 51.82, surpassing the world average (47.42). The evaluation and construction of a set of indicators is based on many factors such as human resource training, technology, applications, businesses, especially the emergence of the national strategy on research, development and application of AI. to 2030, promulgated by the Government in 2021.
