Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets Apple CEO at Apple Park-Hi-tech Fashion

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Apple and other tech giants in Silicon Valley on May 17, including a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook.

During the meeting with the CEO Apple At Apple Park, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and finance as the driving force for the comprehensive partnership between the United States and Vietnam. The Prime Minister added that Vietnamese consumers love Apple products, and that interest will only continue as the global technology economy develops.

Besides Apple, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also visited many other American technology giants.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also expressed his delight at Vietnam’s increasing participation in the global supply chain, including Apple products. It is known that Apple is currently manufacturing a number of devices in Vietnam, including AirPods and iPads. Currently, there are 31 companies employing more than 160,000 workers in Apple’s supply chain operating in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes Apple will strengthen its business activities in Vietnam and that Vietnam can become a “model market” in Asia.

For his part, Mr. Cook thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for the favorable business environment in Vietnam. Mr. Cook added that Apple wants to expand its supply chain in Vietnam and attract more participation from domestic companies. Mr. Cook pledged to consider increasing the number of suppliers in Vietnam and the proportion of domestic products used in Apple’s production lines.

In addition, the Apple CEO said he hoped that the Vietnamese government would come up with more favorable policies to attract high-tech investment from the United States.

Besides Apple’s headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also visited a number of other US technology companies during his trip, including Intel and Google.
