The Prime Minister’s business trip was successful in many ways: contributing to promoting ASEAN – US relations; promoting Vietnam – United Nations relations; deepen the Vietnam – US relations; affirming Vietnam’s position and prestige in the international arena.

During 7 days in the country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked in 4 cities: Washington DC, Boston, New York and San Francisco with more than 50 different large and small activities. Accordingly, the Prime Minister attended and spoke at the sessions of the ASEAN-US Special Summit; Meeting with leaders of some ASEAN countries on the occasion of this conference such as the prime ministers of Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, and the president of Indonesia.

Also during the visit, the Prime Minister met with leaders of the United Nations, including the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Director General of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The Prime Minister met with US President Joe Biden and had meetings with top officials of the US Government such as the foreign secretary, trade minister, finance minister, national security adviser… and leaders of a number of members. American city.

During the business trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and gave important speeches at the American Institute for International Strategic Studies (CSIS), Harvard University; at the same time attend, dialogue and answer many economic, political, social and foreign issues of Vietnam and international issues of common concern at seminars, forums, seminars and conferences.

Economy and trade are a pillar in the relationship between the two countries. Therefore, the Prime Minister attended and spoke at the Vietnam – US Investment Promotion Conference, witnessed the handover of a series of documents and agreements on cooperation in many fields between Vietnam – US agencies and businesses.

The Prime Minister received leaders of many leading US economic groups and businesses headed by Vietnamese people. In particular, the Prime Minister visited the world’s leading technology corporations such as: Intel, Apple, Google…; visit the New York Stock Exchange – the largest stock exchange in the world.

In his busy schedule, the Prime Minister still arranges time to receive American experts, scholars and friends who have feelings and support for Vietnam. In particular, the Prime Minister had 3 meetings with expatriates living, working, studying and researching in the US…
