Should I study English or study another major?

I’m in grade 12, have a bit of a talent for foreign languages, and am deciding between studying English or pursuing science, technology, or communication.

She won first prize in grade 11, second prize in grade 12 in the provincial competition for excellent students in English. This doesn’t say anything big, but it does show that I have some ability and background in English. I also quite like English, although not to the point of passion.

I’m wondering if I should choose to study English or not. Because English is now very popular, almost everyone learns it, there are many good people and tends to be saturated. Holding a degree in English, job opportunities are not very good, it is difficult to compete with someone who is both good at English and has a specific degree.

If you follow this major, your orientation is to graduate from school to be fluent in at least two foreign languages, and at the same time to learn more external professional certificates to support translation majors and to increase job opportunities.

Along with English language major, I am interested in fields such as science, information technology, media, culture, history. However, her logical thinking ability or writing ability is quite weak, according to subjective assessment. At the same time, I have not yet chosen my favorite industry, determined to be able to stick with it for a long time at this time. Therefore, English Language seems to be the safest option.

Hope you guys can give me advice between the two options above: follow the English language or step out of your comfort zone, follow another industry that you are interested in. With each of those options, what should you prepare and learn more about?
