The reason is that both the bank accounts of the two businesses have no money. Specifically, the amount of money Dream Republic Company has to pay to the Tax Department of Thu Duc City is 1,794 billion VND and Sheen Mega Company is 1,796 billion VND.

In case the enterprise has not yet paid in full, the Tax Department of Ho Chi Minh City will apply the measure of coercive revocation of the business registration certificate; investment registration certificate; establishment and operation license; license.

On July 6 (after 180 days), if 2 businesses have not paid, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee will cancel the auction winning result and the business will lose the deposit.

Previously, on May 6, due to the 90-day deadline, both Dream Republic and Sheen Mega companies had not paid the money as prescribed, the Tax Authority of Ho Chi Minh City took measures to enforce the decision. The Tax Department of Ho Chi Minh City said that in case the balance in the deposit accounts of the two companies is less than the coercive amount, the tax authority still deducts and transfers that amount to the budget. Of the four businesses that won the land auction for Thu Thiem Urban Area in December 2021, Dream Republic and Sheen Mega are the other two that have not yet applied for deposit.

As of January 6, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has announced that businesses that win Thu Thiem land auction must pay registration fee and 50% of land use fee within 30 days from the date of notification. The remaining land use levy must be paid within 90 days at the latest, ie until April 6.

By April 7, these two companies had made a written request to be paid in 6 installments, from April to September. However, the tax agency said the reasons given by these two businesses to postpone the payment. Tax payment is not subject to extension as prescribed.

After that, Dream Republic and Sheen Mega pledged to pay 100 billion VND in advance to the budget before April 30. However, up to now, the tax authorities have not collected money from these two businesses.

According to the regulations, these two businesses will be charged a fine for late payment in the first installment from February 6 and from April 7 will be charged an additional fine for late payment of the second installment. In which, the penalty for late payment is 0 0.03%/day. With an amount of approximately VND 8,000 billion , the total fines for late payment of these two enterprises is about VND 70 billion .
