2 siblings drowned tragically in Ba Ria
According to initial information, around 3:30 pm on May 19, DVM (23 years old) with his younger brother DHH (18 years old) and brother-in-law went to Suoi Rao lake (Suoi Rao commune, Chau Duc district, Ba Ria province– Vung Tau) to release fishing nets.

When M. and H. swam out of the lake to cast their nets, H. drowned. Discovering that his younger brother was drowning, M. swam to save him, but then both of them had an accident.
The brother-in-law saw the M. brothers struggling in the middle of the lake and ran to call people to help, but when they arrived, both victims were submerged in the water.
Receiving news of the drowning incident, Suoi Rao Commune Police, in collaboration with military forces, went to Rao Lake to dive and take the bodies of two brothers of M. and H. and hand them over to the family for burial.
According to a report by the Department of Children (Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs) at the end of 2020, drowning is one of the leading causes of death for Vietnamese children aged 2-15, when there are over 2,000 children die from drowning each year in Vietnam.
