This project, named Truc Lam Anh Retreat, located in Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak), is the product of the combination of two architectural forms, the traditional Vietnamese eaves and the typical stilt house of the local architecture. the Central Highlands.
Truc Lam Anh Retreat is located on the campus of a 400m2 residential building, this is not really a house but is essentially a “draping” house – a transitional space, used to organize meals, parties, anniversaries and anniversaries. , receiving guests or a place to rest and relax in parallel with the main house.
The highlight of Truc Lam Anh Retreat is a curved boat-shaped terrace on the roof, and the lower floor is brought out, in order to fully enjoy the openness of the large land around the house.
The roof of the building is a red brick porch, reminiscent of a familiar image in traditional Vietnamese architecture.
The roof system is developed along the land, parallel and open towards the main house of the family to increase the connection between the two spaces.
The team of architects designed the building in the form of an open space so that nature is interwoven inside the house, in order to bring a more spacious and airy feeling.
To divide the convention between indoor and outdoor space, the team of architects used the method of raising the floor. The floor also represents the image of traditional stilt houses of the Central Highlands people.
The space of the building is interlocked to limit the view from the outside to the inside, increasing the privacy of the building while providing a variety of viewing angles from the inside out and in the opposite direction.
According to the team of architects, the project brings a contrast but harmony between modern architecture and traditional house architecture of the Central Highlands.
The functional block space includes a bar-kitchen to share with the main house with the function of cooking, dispensing, along with a restroom, and a relaxing corner.
In particular, the work creates a unique and impressive effect thanks to the combination and interweaving with bougainvillea and lake miniatures.
The multi-purpose block of the building includes a tea room, rest and relaxation space.
The main materials to build Truc Lam Anh Retreat are sourced locally, including grinding stone, natural stone, wood (from old works), … with interior design bearing bold colors of the mountains and forests of the Central Highlands.
