Thousands of people in two big cities poured into the central streets to celebrate the victory of U23 Vietnam over U23 Malaysia after the match ended.

In Hanoi, at first, only a few fans brought flags to celebrate. About 15 minutes later, thousands of people from Ngo Quyen, Ba Trieu, Dien Bien Phu streets… poured into the central area, making the convoy increasingly crowded.

Vu Thanh Ngoc, from Long Bien district, said that as soon as the match ended, his group of 8 carrying flags moved to the city center, taking more than 10 minutes to Sword Lake.

“It has been two years since we have enjoyed the feeling of celebrating victory in this way. This year the SEA Game was held at home, Covid-19 is no longer too dangerous, so we invited each other to celebrate,” Ngoc said. and expressed hope that the final match Vietnam will beat Thailand with a score of 2-0.

At 10:30 p.m., the crowd of fans grew larger and larger, marching around the streets of Hoan Kiem Lake. In many sections, they stopped the car to catch up with the rhythm of chanting “Vietnam is victorious”, “Vietnam is invincible”, causing local congestion on Dinh Tien Hoang and Ly Thai To routes.

Faced with an increasing number of people, many police stations asked not to stop in the middle of the road to celebrate, and at the same time instructed to move to the streets outside.

In Ho Chi Minh City, as soon as the match ended, people flocked to Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and surrounding routes such as Le Thanh Ton, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ham Nghi… cheering, celebrating, chanting “Vietnam victory “. They held flags, blew trumpets, danced to stir the atmosphere.

At the intersection of Nguyen Hue – Le Thanh Ton until 23:30, thousands of people still gathered, causing serious traffic jams. At intersections with Nguyen Hue Street, security forces block lanes and ensure traffic and keep order to avoid some people being violent.
