The intricate and precise geometric architecture of the stairs makes people say: “How could the ancients create this masterpiece centuries ago”.

The well is made up of 3,500 steps with 13 floors up to 30 meters high. The steps are arranged in perfect symmetry. The water at the bottom has a distinctive green color, a carved temple in the center with dark arcs full of mystery.

Chand Baori has a depth of 19.8 meters and is surrounded by verandas. It has steps built on either side, which can be lowered to reach the water at the bottom, resembling an inverted pyramid.

The structure of the steps is designed to ensure that people have access to the water at any time of the year and from all sides. In addition, it also has a mathematical, even astronomical significance, so far, experts have not been able to solve the mystery of the ancient wisdom.

Therefore, Chand Baori is also likened to a “giant fan” and helps the people of Abhaneri village relieve the harsh summer heat. People often sit around the steps to avoid the hot sun.
