President of Bac Lieu province said the reason why the hospital invested more than 200 billion VND “covered mats”

Regarding the hospital’s investment of more than 200 billion VND to “put up the mat” after more than 1 year of completion Vietnamese people reflected, at the press conference to provide information periodically in the second quarter of 2022 held on May 20, Mr. Pham Van Thieu – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Lieu province had information about the reason for the delay in putting it into use.

According to Mr. Thieu, there are many reasons why Bac Lieu Provincial Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Disease has not been able to put into operation. In which, the hospital design is not synchronized with the current procurement equipment.

“When the hospital is completed, it has to repair some items to synchronize with the equipment. And this costs more, so there are still many problems,” said Mr. Thieu.

According to Mr. Thieu, another reason for the delay in putting the hospital into use was that some hospital staff did not have consensus.

“The province will set up a working group to consult with the Ministry of Health to appoint experts with experience in this matter to advise on the installation and acceptance. Aiming to put this hospital into operation soon, avoid waste and make people angry,” Thieu emphasized.

Previously, on February 17, Mr. Tran Van Khanh – Director of Bac Lieu Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases said that the unit had reported on the overall situation that the hospital could not accept patients despite completing the work. nearly 1 year.

Accordingly, Bac Lieu Provincial Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, invested by the Department of Health, has an area of ​​13,000m .² (located in Vinh Trach commune, Bac Lieu city), with a budget of over 200 billion VND. The hospital consists of 3 zones, 1 ground floor, 2 floors with 100 beds.

The hospital has a total of 143 staff, medical staff, doctors, nurses, but in the past 1 year, only training, studying, practicing, manipulating and maintaining medical equipment; about 50% of the workforce is sitting and receiving wages.

Although it has not been put into operation, but through inspection, 3/8 of the installed ventilators have problems and are damaged; testing machine system worth billions of dong does not have sealed chemicals to put into operation; 3 ambulances worth more than 5 billion VND, but the equipment according to the vehicle is not according to the original records; The wastewater treatment system has not been tested and approved for operation…

In August 2021, the Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People’s Committee signed a decision to requisition Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital as a hospital to treat mild and asymptomatic Covid-19 patients. However, after that, it was not possible to accept patients infected with Covid-19.

Regarding this issue, the Standing Committee of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee directed the Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People’s Committee to chair and coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Department, the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Committee and directly related units to work. with the Board of Directors of this hospital to soon resolve the recommendations according to its authority.
