Rare patient shoots medical staff in ambulance

Police Inspector Mark Molinari said the 37-year-old suspect was reported to cause disorder outside the Funkey Monkey Lounge in Staten Island district, New York City – USA.

On the way to the hospital, the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot a medical worker in the shoulder who was collecting preliminary information.

According to police, the ambulance pulled over to the side of the road and the suspect jumped out but was later apprehended by a retired inspector and a public official.

Inspector Molinari said the suspect had previously clashed with police. It is not clear if the gun he used was registered or not.

Since taking office in January this year, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (Democrat), has focused on cracking down on violent crime.

Last week, a New York City police officer was shot in the hand, while the gunman was killed after a shooting in the Bronx.
