The mystery of a 100-year-old mulberry tree that can spit water on its own

In the village of Dinosa, Montenegro (a country in southeastern Europe) there is an old mulberry tree that stands tall in the middle of the meadow.

Every time it rains heavily, the tree pours torrential water from the hole in the middle of the trunk. The water gushing from the mulberry tree is about 1.5m high; From a distance it looks a lot like a fountain.

According to local people, the mulberry tree is over 100 years old, but the spraying only happened 20-25 years ago. As for the cause of the tree flushing, according to Amusing Planet, heavy rains have flooded underground springs, increased pressure has pushed water up the trunk through hollow parts. The water then flows out again.

Emir Hakramaj, a local resident, thinks this is an interesting and unique phenomenon. Emir revealed that he has never missed a sprinkler in his many years living in Dinosa. People here also call the mulberry tree “a miracle that mother nature gives”.

However, this is not the only case in the world where such a phenomenon occurs. In the village of Tuhala, Estonia, there is also a well that is capable of spontaneously erupting water. People accidentally built a well on an underground river. After each heavy rain, water flows into the river, overflowing from the well. Sometimes, streams of water even spray more than half a meter high and can last for several days.

According to legend, this phenomenon happened because the Tuhala witches gathered in an underground sauna and used birch branches to pound them so hard that water shot up from the mouth of the well. That is also the reason this well is called the Well of Witches.
