Ukraine revealed that the US was planning to ‘take down’ the Black Sea Fleet
An adviser to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko today (May 20) announced that the US supply of anti-ship missiles to the country is being discussed.
“The US is preparing a plan to ‘take down’ Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Our military’s ability to fight against Russian warships has convinced the Washington government to prepare a plan to disrupt the state of the ports. Ukraine blocked by the enemy. The delivery of powerful anti-ship weapons such as Harpoon missiles or Naval Strike Missile (NSM) is being discussed,” Al Jazeera news agency quoted Gerashchenko’s Twitter post.
Currently, Al Jazeera and many other news agencies are unable to verify Gerashchenko’s statement, while Russian and US officials have not yet commented on this information.
According to comments from military expertsanti-ship missiles like Harpoon or NSM with a range of 250-300km are capable of creating potential threats to Russian warships deployed in the Black Sea.
