At the 31st SEA Games, the Vietnamese men’s volleyball team competed completely. Coach Li Huan Ning’s army won in turn against Malaysia, Myanmar and lost to Indonesia.

The clash between the Vietnam and Thailand teams is considered to be interesting and tense because of the strength and performance of the two teams, but on many factors Thailand is still the better team. However, the decrease in fitness caused Mr. Li Huan Ning’s students to have many situations of hitting the ball with lack of force and accuracy, and had to accept a 23-25 ​​defeat in the 4th set.

The two teams drew 2-2 and had to enter the decisive 5th set, Thailand took the lead by 2 points, then Vietnam equalized. The two teams stick together for each point. To the final score, player Tu Thanh Thuan wearing the number 6 shirt of Vietnam scored the decisive point to bring about a dramatic victory for Vietnam with a score of 15-13.

In the end, the Vietnamese volleyball team defeated the Thai volleyball team with a score of 3-2, officially winning a ticket to the 31st SEA Games final. The opponent of coach Li Huan Ning and his students was defending champion Indonesia.
