Responding to VTC News, Mr. Khoa, owner of Tu Nho restaurant system (9 branches) confirmed the above incident. However, he said, it is unusual for oysters to be cooked but the maggots are still alive.
“We have contacted Ms. Y and apologized, no matter whose fault, at the staff or how deeply, we still apologize. The system we have been in business for decades, many competitors, there’s a lot more behind it, so it’s hard to pinpoint the cause now. But to put it simply, it’s unusual for a bunch of maggots to crawl on top of a crispy oyster that’s been grilled over hot coals.” Mr. Khoa said.
Regarding the above case, the representative of Binh Duong Province’s Department of Health said that it had directed the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department to set up an inspection team to irregularly inspect the facility where the incident occurred.
Currently, the Department of Health of Binh Duong province has asked relevant agencies to trace the origin of food and dishes to determine whether the origin of the goods is legal, how it is preserved and if it is guaranteed. After having specific results, it will be based on that for processing.
