Meritorious Artist Trinh Kim Chi shared with VietNamNet, she was not able to “save” Phu Nhuan Drama Theater (HCMC) as promised to senior Hong Van. After many working sessions with the Board of Directors of Phu Nhuan Cultural Center, the two sides could not agree on a common plan. The center currently only accepts to sign a contract with Phu Nhuan Drama Theater for a period of 3 months. The contract will be renewed once every 3 months.

“With a contract of only 3 months, I cannot confidently invest in Phu Nhuan Drama Theater. It is difficult for an artist to be creative when he does not know where his stage will be tomorrow”, Meritorious Artist Kim Chi said. know.

She added, the Board of Directors of Phu Nhuan Cultural Center very much wants to keep the Phu Nhuan Drama Theater. However, the center is about to have a structural change into the Phu Nhuan Sports and Culture Center. Therefore, despite being afraid of Trinh Kim Chi, the center cannot be sure about the contract with Phu Nhuan Drama Theater.

In the past few days, Trinh Kim Chi has come to work with Phu Nhuan Cultural Center many times to meet actors and crew of Phu Nhuan Drama Theater. She plans to invest no less than 1 billion dong for items such as new scripts, interactive LED screens, additional lights, sound equipment,… stage reform. In addition, Trinh Kim Chi plans many plans related to education, experimentation, and drama enhancement. Because objective and subjective conditions were not guaranteed, she had to let go even after meticulous planning.

However, Trinh Kim Chi still hopes to “save” the Phu Nhuan Drama Theater again. She confided: “Through VietNamNet, I don’t misunderstand that I have taken over the Phu Nhuan Drama Theater. In the event that the Phu Nhuan Cultural Center completes the restructuring, I may negotiate again with the Phu Nhuan Drama Center. If the center’s board of directors has enough grace, then, I hope that the center will create conditions for signing a long-term contract to invest and create art with peace of mind.”
