The rest have filed for trial in absentia because of their testimony at the police station.

The chairman also said that according to the testimony of about 70 traffic police and the traffic police, he confirmed that he did not know who the defendants were and had no relationship to receive money from the defendants. The rest confessed that they knew Thoi and Van during their work, but did not accept money from the defendants.

Responding to the interrogation of the trial panel, defendant Nguyen Van Thoi admitted the crime as prosecuted. Thoi said, in the process of selling the “king” car logo, the defendant asked his wife to transfer 1.2 billion VND to former police officer Nguyen Canh Chan through Chan’s wife’s account number. However, Thoi’s wife only knows that this is the amount to pay the debt.

Defendant Tran Quoc Thai said that from the time he started selling the logo from March 2015 until his arrest, the defendant had given more than 2.7 billion VND to traffic police and traffic officers.

Defendant Le Thi Cam Van admitted that the defendant printed and sold the logo to truck drivers, if the vehicle was overloaded, the defendant sold it to these people and then gave money to the traffic police so as not to be fined.

Van said, most asked for the drivers’ phone numbers through the fines from the traffic police and then contacted and offered to sell the logo. The defendant claimed that he did not remember how many logos he had sold, but earned nearly 8 billion VND from this and then gave most of the money back to the traffic police and traffic police.

Former police officer Nguyen Canh Chan also admitted to the jury about receiving money from Thoi to ask others for help, ignoring the overloaded vehicle.

According to the prosecution, Thoi used to work in the transportation business, and his car was often fined for overloading, so he hooked up with the traffic police to ask for money, and stuck the logo on the overloaded trucks for some traffic officers. , traffic police when on duty recognize and do not impose fines. Unable to do it alone, Thoi invited his family member, Thai, to join him in selling the “king car” logo.

Thoi asked Chan for help so that the traffic police would not penalize overloaded trucks for cars with logos sold by Thoi. Chan agreed and told a Captain of the 1st Division of the Traffic Police Department of the Dong Nai Provincial Police Department about Thoi’s request and he agreed.

In April 2015, the captain of the first team of the Dong Nai Provincial Police Department’s Traffic Police Department died of illness, Chan continued to ask a Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Dong Nai Provincial Police Department to help and was accepted. Then, Thoi transferred VND 600 million to Chan for a bribe, Chan gave the Deputy of Traffic Police Department VND 300 million and kept VND 300 million. According to the investigation results, Chan acted as an intermediary for Thoi to pay a bribe of 1.2 billion VND.

After hooking up with some corrupt policemen, Thoi and Thai printed and sold logos to car owners and drivers to stick on the front of the car as a sign.

The line of buying and selling the logo of the “king car” to protect overloaded vehicles led by Thoi lasted for more than 1 year, from January 2014 to August 2015 sold 15,000 vehicles, earning nearly 23 illegal profits. billions dong.
