Noodle shop in the center of Da Nang, view of the train line, price 5,000 VND/bowl
Danang cuisine: Popular noodle shop attracts diners
Aunt Ty noodle shop (located on the sidewalk, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city) is always crowded because the noodles here are both delicious and cheap. The shop has both dry vermicelli (bun mam seasoning) and vermicelli (vermicelli, encrusted, ribbed).
The owner of this popular noodle shop is Mrs. Vo Thi Thuong (SN 1949). Ms. Thuong said that she has opened a noodle shop here for 25 years. Previously, her family lived on Ham Nghi street (Thanh Khe district), she sold vermicelli there, after she moved here she also moved the noodle shop. The shop is open from 6am to noon. Customers of the shop are mainly students, students and workers.
According to the owner, the price of each bowl of vermicelli here is not fixed but sold at the request of customers, usually 15,000 VND/bowl, 10,000 VND/bowl and the lowest is 5,000 VND/bowl.
“Customers can sell as much as they can, in which people usually eat a bowl of 10,000 dong. If they eat a bowl of 5,000 dong, they usually order 2-3 bowls, they can eat both vermicelli with fish sauce and vermicelli. They love to eat. Mix a little to make it delicious, but don’t like to mix a lot,” said Ms. Thuong.
Ms. Thuong said, if the bowl of vermicelli at her shop is so cheap, the people who make it are all the children in the house to sell, but she does not hire outsiders. She also believes that selling cheap to many people is better than selling expensive to few people.
“Here, the ingredients are all bought and made by yourself, such as water spinach that you buy to split, and chili that you buy to pound yourself…”, Ms. Thuong said.
Previously, the shop sold about 50-60kg of vermicelli every day. However, a few days ago, someone came to eat and found it cheap, so they went online to introduce it, and the customers came to the restaurant even more crowded. Currently, the shop sells out 1 quintal of vermicelli every day. Mrs. Thuong “blame”: “I don’t know who went online to introduce what to do to make the guests come too crowded to do it in time”.
Ms. Thuong also shared that the work of the vermicelli shop is also quite difficult because it has to prepare ingredients all day and get up early. However, having worked for many years, she is used to the pace of the work.
