Siblings who made their mark at SEA Games 31

During the opening ceremony at the 31st SEA Games, there were many siblings who won gold and silver medals, bringing honor to the whole team.

Two siblings compete in wrestling for the first time at SEA Games to win gold medals

For the first time participating in wrestling at the SEA Games, two sisters from Hue, My Trang (SN 2001) and My Hanh (SN 1997), won the gold medal.

My Trang was touched: “I feel very happy. This is the first time that the two sisters can attend the SEA Games and win the gold medal together.”

Born into a large family, My Hanh sought to help her family and fell in love with wrestling. From there, she directed her 3 younger sisters to follow her sister’s path. My Linh (My Hanh’s younger sister) is also a national wrestling athlete.

The gold medal is an honor for the sisters, their family and the national sports team. This achievement reminded the two sisters of their hard training days.

“We took the bus to the city to practice 3 times a week. The two sisters taught each other techniques, gave each other exercises. We hope in the next SEA Games, all 3 sisters. All have the opportunity to participate and win a gold medal,” My Trang shared.

The achievements of the three sisters of the Quah family have become the pride of Singaporean sports. The oldest sister Quah Ting Wen, younger brother Quah Zheng Wen and youngest sister Quah Jing Wen all gave excellent performances.

Quah Ting Wen (29 years old) successfully defended the gold medal in the 100m freestyle swimming event. The youngest sister Quah Jing Wen (22 years old) won the gold medal in the women’s 200m butterfly event. Quah Zheng Wen (25 years old) won the gold medal in the 100m backstroke event.

Twins Ong Sze En and Ong Rei En – diving

Twin sisters Ong Sze En and Ong Rei En finished the competition at SEA Games 31 with a silver medal in diving.

The 18-year-old duo ranked second with 225.42 points, behind the Malaysian pair of Pandelela Rinong-Nur Dhabitah. This achievement helped the Singapore diving team to rank second in the whole group, after Malaysia.

Truong Thao Vy and Truong Thao My – basketball

Twin sisters Truong Thao My (Kayleigh Truong – number 11) and Truong Thao Vy (Kaylynne Truong – number 14) live abroad but returned home to dedicate themselves to the national basketball team at SEA. Games 31.

Trained by their father, a former basketball player, the Truong sisters strive to rise up and become amazing players.

At the 31st SEA Games, the Truong sisters competed in both 3×3 and 5×5 formats. And on May 14, the girls of the basketball team won a silver medal in the 3×3 content. This is the first time in history that the Vietnamese women’s basketball team has won achievements in the regional playground.
