Slight upgrade of Snapdragon 778G
Besides the newly introduced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset generation also appeared for the first time with many highlights.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is manufactured on the same 4nm process as the 8 Gen 1 series, including 8 cores including 4 performance cores and 4 power-saving cores. The Cortex-A710 performance core runs at up to 2.4GHz, the remaining three performance cores (also Cortex-A710) run at 2.36GHz. And the Cortex-A510 is a 4-core power-saving cluster running at 1.8GHz.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 integrates Adreno 662 graphics GPU. Qualcomm says the new processor has a 20% improvement in graphics processing capacity compared to Snapdragon 778G, and 30% improvement in AI tasks.

Adreno Frame Motion Engine technology allows to double the number of graphics frames when playing games while consuming the same power as Snapdragon 778G. The new processor also supports up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.
Qualcomm integrates Snapdragon X62 5G modem on Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 for 4.4Gbps data transfer rate, dual-band 5G support (SA/NSA), Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are also supported.
The ISP Spectra image processor on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is also capable of processing data from the 200MP sensor, supporting 4K HDR video recording, 10-bit HEIC and HEVC image capture when recording video, and more.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will first appear on the OPPO Reno8 launched on May 23 here in China.
