The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just sent a document to the Departments of Education and Training, the principals of high schools on the implementation of the secondary education program for the school year 2022-2023.

In order to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program for grades 6, 7, grade 10 and the 2006 General Education Program for the remaining classes in the 2022-2023 school year, Hanoi Department of Education and Training The Cabinet asked the heads of high schools to coordinate with the local Education and Training Departments to survey the learning needs of elective subjects and study clusters of 9th grade students so that schools in the cluster can refer to them. research, as a basis for building selected subject combinations.

Based on students’ learning needs and conditions of facilities, teaching equipment, and teachers, high schools will build a number of combinations of selected subjects.

Combinations of 5 subjects are selected from 3 groups of subjects selected in the program.

Schools need to simultaneously conduct well propaganda and dissemination to students and parents about expected subject combinations in the 10th grade plan for the school year 2022-2023, enhance career guidance, and help Students choose appropriate subjects.

In addition, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires units and schools to report the combination of selected subjects expected to be implemented in the school year 2022-2023 according to the 2018 General Education Program.

The school year 2022-2023 is the first year 10th graders study under the 2018 General Education Program. The highlight of the new program compared to the current program is its very high career orientation.

Specifically, instead of studying many subjects like today, from the school year 2022-2023, students in grade 10 will study 7 compulsory educational subjects and activities including: Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language 1, Physical Education Quality, National defense and security education, Experience activities, career guidance, Local educational content.

Along with that, they have the right to choose 5 subjects in 3 groups (each group chooses at least 1 subject) including: Social Science group (History, Geography, Economic and legal education); group of Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology); Technology and Arts group (Technology, Informatics, Art). In which Art has two subjects, Music and Fine Arts, each subject will be counted as one subject.

According to the statistics of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the school year 2021-2022, the whole city has about 129,000 students in grade 9. Students will participate in the entrance exam to the 10th grade of high school in the school year 2022. -2023 on June 18 and 19, 2022./
