Vietnam’s ‘hot girl weightlifting’ sets 3 SEA Games records

Hong Thanh won a gold medal at the 30th SEA Games with the achievement of 90 kg in the recoil, 124 kg in the push and 214 kg in the general election. She is still the most appreciated when defending the championship this afternoon, despite formidable opponents such as Alfiah Ramadani (Indonesia), Ando Elreen Ann (Philippines).
But the fact that the contest at the National Sports Training Center gymnasium showed that this contestant nicknamed “Hot girl weightlifting” was completely superior. Hong Thanh registered a starting level of jerking at 98 kg – the highest of the five athletes competing, and succeeded easily. In the next two times, she also successfully snatched with weights of 101 kg and 104 kg, thereby breaking the SEA Games record in this weight category of 100 kg.
Meanwhile, Ramadani failed the first time with a registration of 95 kg, and only achieved the best, of 100 kg in the third time. Elreen Ann was more impressive than the rest of the group, successfully lifting all three times. But the Philippines still only achieved the best of 103 kg in the third time.

In the pushing part, both Elreen Ann and Hong Thanh registered a starting level of 120 kg and were successful. In the second and third turns, Filipino athletes both failed with 125 kg, while Hong Thanh succeeded with 126 kg to hold the gold medal and the new SEA Games record, 2kg more than the old record. With the remaining turn, the host city decided to register to 130 kg, but failed.
However, with 230 kg of total weight, from 104 kg of jerk and 126 kg of push, Hong Thanh still achieved satisfactory results. She has both successfully defended the gold medal and scored a record hat-trick of the congress.
“I’m a bit sorry that I didn’t succeed with 130 kg in the last push. In more than two weeks before entering the SEA Games, I suffered a slight injury on one side of my back, so I had to reduce my training volume to recover in time. Because So, today’s achievement is not as high as expected,” said the Hai Duong citizen after receiving the gold medal.
