Blow Sen’s soul into the silk shirt

The art night “Sen in me” inspired visitors with delicate and thoughtful stories about the lotus at the 1st Dong Thap Lotus Festival – 2022 (taking place from May 19th, 2020). – May 21 at Van Mieu Square).

Lotus is a simple flower, rustic but ethereal and pure. And only the Lotus flower fully converges in itself with the philosophical meaning – noble life, the meaning of yin and yang, the five elements and the intense vitality “near the mud but without the foul smell of mud”. In the art program “Sen in me” taking place on the evening of May 20, the Vietnamese Costume Research Institute introduced 2 collections of Ao Dai and 1 collection of Ba Ba shirt with creative inspiration from Sen. .

Sen is now breathed into ao dai, ao dai, sometimes gentle and delicate, sometimes brilliant and lively; sometimes soft, flexible, sometimes dynamic, confident. And regardless of age, on stage there is no longer an age gap between the performers. Maybe the difference is the color, fabric, lotus motifs. Thereby telling the story from the time when Sen was a lotus bud hiding among the green leaves, then transformed to spread its wings and as a rule, faded for a whole life cycle of Sen.

With an endless source of feelings for Sen, Painter – Master – Founder of Ao Dai Museum – President of Vietnam Costume Research Institute – Designer Sy Hoang has inspired visitors the feelings about Sen. proudly. He shared: “With the lotus motifs on the national ao dai, he wanted to inspire and spread love for the Ao Dai and for the Sen, which is treasured as the national flower to international friends. economy, thereby contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese people who are friendly, gentle but also steadfast and strong”.

If the “National Flower” Ao Dai Collection gives a strong impression with vibrant, vivid colors, attracting followers at first sight; Zen Sen collection brings a feeling of peace, leisurely amidst the chaos and busyness. As for the familiar Ba Ba dresses, they now shine and stand out in the lotus space of the main stage of the Dong Thap Lotus Festival.

And what’s more special, participating in the show “Sen in me” are not only beauties and models, but also artisans and businessmen of Dong Thap province, members of the City Women’s Business Association. The confident steps on the catwalk even though they have never been used to the stage, the innocent steps of the children of Dat Lotus have breathed a strange life into the beloved Ao Dai and Ba Ba shirt.
