Covid-19 news today May 22, Vietnam added 1,319 new Covid-19 cases, down 138 cases.

The Ministry of Health said that on May 22, the whole country had 1,319 new cases of Covid-19 in 42 provinces and cities, down 138 cases compared to yesterday. All are domestic cases, there are 1,093 community cases.

The following provinces and cities have recorded cases: Hanoi (347), Bac Ninh (138), Vinh Phuc (90), Nghe An (82), Yen Bai (61), Quang Ninh (58), Tuyen Quang (51), Phu Tho (50), Hai Duong (40), Thai Nguyen (39), Thai Binh (35), Da Nang (33), Lao Cai (32), Nam Dinh (21), Ha Tinh (19) ), Quang Binh (19), Lam Dong (19), Bac Kan (17), Cao Bang (17), Hai Phong (17), Hung Yen (16), Ha Nam (13), Thanh Hoa (12), HCMC (12), Lang Son (10), Hoa Binh (10), Son La (10), Binh Phuoc (7), Ha Giang (6), Quang Tri (6), Binh Dinh (6), Gia Lai (5), Ninh Binh (4), Ben Tre (3), Binh Thuan (3), Bac Giang (3), Lai Chau (2), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (2), Binh Duong (1), Thua Thien Hue (1), Can Tho (1), Hau Giang (1).

The localities where the number of infections decreased the most compared to the previous day: Phu Tho (down 38), Hai Phong (down 27), Hanoi (down 23).

The localities that recorded the highest number of infections compared to the previous day: Bac Ninh (up 138), Hai Duong (up 12), Cao Bang (up 5).

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 10,708,887 infections, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 104 out of 227 countries and territory.

In the fourth outbreak (from April 27, 2021 to present), the country has 10,701,130 cases, of which 9,399,229 patients have been declared cured. Localities with high cumulative infections during this epidemic: Hanoi (1,597,831), Ho Chi Minh City (609,176), Nghe An (484,119), Bac Giang (387,513), Binh Duong (383,761).

Regarding the treatment situation, up to now, 9,402,046 patients have recovered from the disease. There are 211 cases of oxygen breathing remaining in the country, of which 13 are invasive mechanical ventilation and 2 ECMO cases.

In the past 24 hours, the whole country has had no deaths from Covid-19. The total number of deaths in Vietnam so far is 43,075, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths ranked 24/227 territories, the number of deaths per 1 million people ranked 130/227 countries and territories in the world. Compared with Asia, the total number of deaths ranked 6/49, ranked 3rd in ASEAN.

Regarding the testing situation, from April 27, 2021 up to now, 39,507,690 samples have been taken for 85,814,176 turns of people.

In terms of vaccination status, the total number of vaccine doses administered so far is 219,084,118 doses. In there:

Number of injections for people aged 18 and over is 198,229,463 doses: 1st dose is 71,472,206 doses; The second dose is 68,705,056 doses; The third dose is 1,506,133 doses; The additional dose is 15,163,236 doses; The first booster dose is 41,317,426 doses; The second booster dose is 65,406 doses.

Number of doses for children 12-17 years old is 17,424,119 doses: 1st dose is 8,926,085 doses; The second dose is 8,498,034 doses.

Number of doses for children from 5-11 years old is 3,430,536 doses: 1st dose is 3,406,264 doses; The second dose is 24,272 doses.
