Malaysia encourages children to get vaccinated against COVID-19

From June 1, this program will no longer be free. Vaccination stations are working at full capacity as the number of young children starting to get vaccinated has skyrocketed in the past week.

Malaysia uses Pfizer BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for children with a two-dose course 8 weeks apart. The goal is that 70% of school-age children get at least one shot within the first 2 months.

According to statistics from the Malaysian Ministry of Health, up to now, about 30% of children aged 5-11 have completed vaccination.
