Jetson One is a single-seat aircraft that can reach speeds of 102 km/h and has a range of about 32 km. This electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft debuted last October and was so popular that it sold out almost immediately with deliveries later this year.

Jetson company in Sweden and Poland, on May 19 shared a new video showing the pilot controlling the flying vehicle in Tuscany, Italy. In the video, the unnamed pilot piloted the Jetson One through fields and trees. The company also demonstrated the vehicle can fly above water.

Peter Ternström, Jetson president and co-founder Tomasz Patan founded the company in 2017 after coming up with the design concept a few years ago. They began applying a variety of technologies to ensure the machine was safe in flight, including sensors, backup motors and speed limiters. The vehicle does not need a runway for take-off or landing and is designed to ensure a smooth landing for the pilot.

The Jetson One weighs 86 kg and can fly every 20 minutes with a 2-hour battery charge time. The vehicle is controlled by a joystick and throttle. As a next step, Ternström and Patan will create a two-seater flying car with a luggage compartment by 2026 and progress to a four-seat vehicle by the end of the decade.

“We want to make big cities a better place to live. For our children, cities can be greener, without having to spend a lot of space on parking and building roads because All vehicles will go to the air,” the two founders of the company shared.
