Striker Nham Manh Dung became the hero of U23 Vietnam with a superb header – the only goal of the match.
With a 1-0 victory over the Thais in the final, U23 Vietnam went down in history as the first team to successfully defend the SEA Games gold medal.
After the match ended, the substitutes and members of the coaching staff rushed into the field to celebrate with the whole team.
