Former Austrian foreign minister leaves Russian oil company
The company Russian oil and gas Rosneft announced that Karin Kneissl, former foreign minister of Austria, has resigned from the board of directors.
Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl became the latest figure to resign from the board of Russia’s state-owned oil company Rosneft.
Rosneft announced Ms. Kneissl’s resignation on May 23. The Russian oil company thanked her for her “joint work over the past 10 months amid the pandemic and the difficult international situation,” according to RT.
In June 2021, Rosneft confirmed that former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl joined the Rosneft board of directors as an independent director.
Ms. Kneissl was Austria’s foreign minister from 2017 to 2019 and contributed to improving relations between Vienna and Moscow.
